　店は２年ほど前から高齢者が増え始め、今は平日昼間の利用者の８～９割を占める。人気は「メダル落としゲーム」。手持ちのメダルを投入して装置内のメダルの山を崩して遊ぶ。上達すると、千円あれば長時間楽しめる。

　大半のお年寄りは数時間は滞在し、ゲームの途中でお茶を飲んだり、弁当を食べたりして仲間と雑談して過ごす。「ゲームセンターが交流の場になっているよ うですね」と酒井康彰店長は言う。タイトーは高齢者向けに、全国約２０店舗で今年１月から店内のベンチを畳敷きに変えた。
